Sometimes God has some unpleasant things to tell us, but they are written for our learning and our good.
Why is it that God says that unbelievers who pretend to be Christians are sows and dogs? Because no matter how good they try to be, they cannot please God. It is because they have not Christ in their hearts. They just cannot get away from their wicked thoughts and evil deeds. They always return to their “own vomit,” and their “wallowing in the mire,” as God tells us in 2 Peter 2:2222But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. (2 Peter 2:22).
The Lord Jesus Christ can make us good, if we will let Him. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.” 2 Cor. 5:1717Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17). “For God hath made Him to be sin for us, He Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Cor. 5:2121For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Corinthians 5:21).
