THIS is Russell’s pet pig. He took care of her when he went to visit Aunt Ina’s and Uncle Arthur’s farm. He named her “Ringer” because she looked so cate with the white ring around her neck.
Now she is grown, and has some little pigs of her own.
God says something in His Word about sows and dogs. They are pictures of unbelievers who pretend to be Christians. They might be religious people, and they might be educated people, but if they have not accepted Christ as their personal Saviour, they are not Christians.
“Ye are all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” Gal. 3:2626For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:26). A Christian is one who has faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
All people are divided into two classes; the children of God, or the children of the Devil, who are unbelievers. When the Lord Jesus was talking to the religious Pharisees, He said unto them, “Ye are of, your father the Devil... he that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.” John 8:44-4744Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. 46Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? 47He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. (John 8:44‑47).
