And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.

And he said,

Yea, he loveth the peoples:{HR}All his saints are in thy hand;{HR}And they sat down at thy feet,{HR}Each receive thy decisions.

Moses commanded us a law,{HR}The inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.{HR}
5
And he was king in Jeshurun,{HR}When the heads of the people and the tribes of Israel were gathered together.

Let Reuben live and not die, and his men be few .
7
And this is for Judah; and he said,{HR}Hear, O Jehovah, the voice of Judah,{HR}And bring him unto his people:{HR}Let his hands be numerous for him,{HR}And be thou an help from his adversaries.

And of Levi he said,{HR}Thy Thummim and thy Urim are for thy holy one,{HR}Whom thou didst prove at Massah,{HR}With whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah;
9
Who said of his father and of his mother,{HR}I have not seen him;{HR}Neither did he acknowledge his brethren,{HR}Nor know his own children;{HR}For they kept thy word,{HR}And guarded thy covenant.

They shall teach thy judgments to Jacob,{HR}And thy law to Israel:{HR}They shall put incense before thee,{HR}And whole burnt-offering upon thine altar .
11
Bless, Jehovah, his force, and accept the work of his hands:{HR}Strike through the loins of those that rise up against him,{HR}And of those that hate him, that they rise not again.

Of Benjamin he said,{HR}The beloved of Jehovah shall dwell in safety by him;{HR}He shall harbour him all the day,{HR}And he shall dwell between his shoulders.

And of Joseph he said,{HR}Blessed of Jehovah be his land for the precious things of the heavens,{HR}For the dew and for the deep couching beneath,
14
And for the precious things brought forth by the sun,{HR}And for the precious things driven out by the moon,
15
And for the chief things of the ancient mountains,{HR}And for the precious things of the lasting hills,
16
And the good pleasure of him that dwelt in the bush:{HR}Let it come on the head of Joseph,{HR}And on the top of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.

The first-born of his herd is honour to him,{HR}And his horns the horns of a buffalo:{HR}With them he shall push peoples together to the ends of the earth;{HR}And they are the myriads of Ephraim,{HR}And they are the thousands of Manasseh.

And of Zebulun he said,{HR}Rejoice, Zebulun, in thy going out;{HR}And, Issachar, in thy tents.

They shall call the peoples to the mountain;{HR}There they shall sacrifice sacrifices of righteousness;{HR}For they shall suck the abundance of the seas,{HR}Even treasures hidden in the sand.

And of Gad he said,{HR}Blessed be he that enlargeth Gad:{HR}He dwelleth as a lioness,{HR}And teareth the arm,{HR}Also the crown of the head.

And he provideth the first part for himself;{HR}For there is the portion covered for the lawgiver;{HR}And he came with the heads of the people;{HR}He did the righteousness of Jehovah,{HR}And his judgments with Israel.

And of Dan he said,{HR}Dan is a lion’s whelp;{HR}He shall leap from Bashan.

And of Naphtali he said,{HR}O Naphtali, satisfied with good will,{HR}And full of the blessing of Jehovah,{HR}Possess thou the west and the south.

And of Asher he said,{HR}Asher, blessed among sons,{HR}Let him be acceptable to his brethren,{HR}And dip his foot in oil:
25
Thy shoes iron and copper;{HR}And thy strength as thy days.
26
There is none like the God of Jeshurun,{HR}Riding the heavens for thy help,{HR}And for his excellency the skies.
27
The God of ages is a refuge,{HR}And underneath the everlasting arms;{HR}And he shall drive away the enemy from thy presence,{HR}And say, Destroy!
28
Israel dwelleth in safety,{HR}The fountain of Jacob on a land of corn and new wine;{HR}His heavens also drop down dew.
29
Happy thou, O Israel: who is like thee,{HR}O people saved by Jehovah, the shield of thy help,{HR}And who is the sword of thy excellency!{HR}And thy enemies shall lie to thee;{HR}And thou shalt tread on their high places.
