One of my favorite sections in this book was Bellett’s development of God’s dealings with today’s believers as shown in Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph. He brings out election in Abraham, sonship or adoption in Isaac, discipline in Jacob and heirship in Joseph. It was thrilling to my soul to see how God had anticipated His ways with us and illustrated them in the record of the lives of His saints in Genesis. The development of those thoughts makes a rich study for any soul. There is a whole lot more here for both the conscience and the heart.
