• See notes on Proverbs 12:24, and 13:4. Many of us fail to realize that idleness is sin. Time wasted is time to be accounted for at the judgment-seat of Christ. Needed rest is, of course, very right and proper. Jesus Himself had to say to His disciples, “Come ye yourselves apart, and rest awhile.” But idleness is quite different. Slothfulness is trifling away opportunities that will never return. (“Proverbs Nineteen” by H.A. Ironside)
