Love to Christ.

Exhibited by God. Matt. 17:5⁵While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. (Matthew 17:5). John 5:20²⁰For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things that himself doeth: and he will show him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. (John 5:20).

Exhibited by saints. 1 Peter 1:8⁸Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: (1 Peter 1:8).

Even unto death. Acts 21:13¹³Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. (Acts 21:13). Rev. 12:11¹¹And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. (Revelation 12:11).

Promises to. 2 Tim. 4:8⁸Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. (2 Timothy 4:8). James 1:12¹²Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. (James 1:12).

THEY WHO HAVE,

Are loved by the Father. John 14:21, 23²¹He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. (John 14:21)
²³Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. (John 14:23). John 16:27²⁷For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. (John 16:27).

Are loved by Christ. Prov. 8:17¹⁷I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. (Proverbs 8:17). John 14:21²¹He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Enjoy communion with God and Christ. John 14:23²³Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. (John 14:23).

Decrease of, rebuked. Rev. 2:4⁴Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. (Revelation 2:4).

Want of, denounced. 1 Cor. 16:22²²If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha. (1 Corinthians 16:22).
