The Beautiful Spider's Web

Listen from:
Dear Children,
Have you ever looked closely at a spider’s web? I have, and probably many of you have too. They are really beautiful, but be sure you don’t touch the spider or its web! Some spiders are dangerous and can give you a nasty bite. That web is the spider’s home, and he uses it to catch his food. You certainly don’t want the spider to think you are his breakfast if you touch its web. The web you see in our picture is covered with dew drops. Those dew drops look like pearls on a string, don’t they?
The spider is another creature created by our God in heaven. It was God who gave the spider the ability to spin its web. How do we know this for sure? Open your Bible and read Genesis 1:11In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Genesis 1:1). This is what it says: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Now, if you will read the whole chapter, you will discover that our great God in heaven created all things. He not only created the spider and gave it the ability to spin its web, but He also created the beautiful dew drops that are hanging on the web.
Turn in your Bible to Genesis 2:77And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7) and you’ll see that God created people too: “The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Then Genesis 2:1919And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. (Genesis 2:19) says, “Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air.” We know God’s Word is true, and we can trust it completely.
God has given each spider the ability to build its webs to catch mosquitoes, flies, moths and other flying insects for them to eat. One time, a boy in school asked his teacher if he (the teacher) could build or make a spider web. The teacher answered, “I am not a spider!” In other words, only spiders can make those webs. And those beautiful dew drops supply the spider with water to drink in the early morning. The dew drops dry up later in the day, so the spider has to get up early if he is thirsty.
Are you wondering where the dew drops come from? Here’s the answer: “By [God’s] knowledge  ... the clouds drop down the dew” (Proverbs 3:2020By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. (Proverbs 3:20)). What a wonderful creator God we have!
Some of you children in the upper grades of grade school and in middle school and high school have classes in science, which can be very interesting. However, there are some parts of science that are being taught that are not true. We know that, because those parts do not agree with the Bible’s record of God’s creating the universe, the world and all life in our world. Those of us who are believers in God and His Son Jesus know that what God has written in the Bible is true and accurate and can be trusted.
Do you believe that what God has written in the Bible is true? If so, you know that we are all sinners. And God has also written that His beloved Son Jesus was crucified and died on a cross, shedding His precious blood. His purpose was so we can have our sins washed away in His blood and be set free. This makes us ready for heaven. “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:3232And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:32)).
Have you been set free from your sins? We sure hope so!
With lots of love,
Grampa and Gramma
