To the chief musician on Shoshannim-Eduth ; of Asaph, a psalm.{HR}Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel,{HR}Leading Joseph as the sheep;{HR}Dwelling [above] the cherubim, shine forth.

Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh{HR}Arouse thy might and come for our salvation.

O God, restore us,{HR}And cause thy face to shine,{HR}And we shall be saved.

Jehovah God of hosts,{HR}How long wilt thou (will thine anger) smoke against the prayer of thy people?

Thou hast caused them to eat bread of tears{HR}And to drink tears a large measure.

Thou hast made us a strife to our neighbours,{HR}And our enemies mock among ourselves.
7
O God of hosts, restore us,{HR}And cause thy face to shine,{HR}And we shall be saved.

A vine out of Egypt thou broughtest;{HR}Thou didst drive out nations, and didst plant it.

Thou preparedst [space] before it,{HR}And it took deep root and filled the land.
10
Mountains were covered with its shadow,{HR}And its boughs [were] cedars of God .
11
It sent out its branches unto the sea,{HR}And its shoots unto the river.

Why hast thou broken down its fence,{HR}So that all who pass by the way shall pluck it?

The boar out of the forest wasteth it,{HR}And the wild beast of the field feedeth on it.

O God of hosts, return, we pray;{HR}Look down even from the heavens and see,{HR}And visit this vine,

Even the stock which thy right hand planted,{HR}And the plant (son) thou madest strong for thyself.
16
[It is] burned with fire, cut down:{HR}At the rebuke of thy face they perish.
17
Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand,{HR}Upon the son of man thou madest strong for thyself.
18
So will we not go back from thee.{HR}Revive us, and we will call upon thy name.

Restore us, O Jehovah God of hosts,{HR}Cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.
