The words "and he that is filthy" are omitted by some MSS. contrary to the mass. The correct word for filthy is rhypōros as in all the well-known Greek copies.

There need be no doubt that dikaiōthēts (righteous) as in the T. R., must give place to the reading dikaiosynēn, which the Revisers follow, as they do with the sense "do" or "practice" righteousness, not be justified or "be righteous" as in the KJV.
