I did not object to the "the great", for it is my own reading, as it is that of most critical editors of the Revelation. Erasmus introduced the error into the first published edition and all those which followed. It is now known that it was his own error, not the bad reading of his manuscript. It is evident that Jerusalem (literal or symbolical,) is the city referred to in the preceding verses, and determined to be the city in question by the words which follow; though the internal evidence opposes the latter and ordinary view, because Babylon, not Jerusalem, is designated "the great city" in this book.

Most MSS. have "their" Lord, T. R. and others "our." The RV rightly says "their" Lord.
