To the chief musician; a Psalm of David.{HR}O Jehovah, in thy strength the king rejoiceth,{HR}And in thy salvation how exceedingly doth he exult!
Thou hast given unto him the desire of his heart,{HR}And the request of his lips thou hast not withholden. Selah.
For thou meetest him [with] blessings of goodness,{HR}Thou settest upon his head a crown of pure gold.
He asked life from thee;{HR}Thou gavest [it] him—length of days for ever and ever.
Great [is] his glory in thy salvation;{HR}Majesty and honour thou puttest upon him.
For thou givest him blessings forever;{HR}Thou makest him glad with joy by thy countenance.
For the king trusteth in Jehovah,{HR}And through the mercy of the Most High he is not moved.
Thy hand shall find out all thine enemies,{HR}Thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
Thou wilt make them as a furnace of fire at the time of thy presence;{HR}Jehovah in his anger will consume them, and fire shall devour them.
Thou wilt destroy their fruit from the earth{HR}And their seed from among the sons of men.
For they stretched out evil over thee,{HR}They have devised a wicked device; they are not able.
For thou makest them to turn their back,{HR}When thou preparest thy strings against their face.
Lift thyself up, O Jehovah, in thy might;{HR}We will sing and praise thy power.
