Porch

From Manners and Customs of the Bible:

The porch is the passage-way from the street to the court. See diagram on page 198. It is sometimes arched, and its floor usually inclines from the direction of the street. A door opens from it into the court; but this door is so arranged that it is not directly opposite to the gate which opens to the street. Thus, though both should be open at the same time, no one, in passing through the street, would be able to look into the court. This was the place to which Peter retreated when he was accused of having been with Jesus. The porch is also mentioned in Judges 3:2323Then Ehud went forth through the porch, and shut the doors of the parlor upon him, and locked them. (Judges 3:23).
