Now Is the Time

Mr. Burns, a gospel preacher, was asked to go and see the dying wife of a tavern keeper. Her husband was quite embarrassed and made excuses for his business saying he was going to give it up when his lease ran out.

“There is no lease with God,” said Burns. “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Cor. 6:2²(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succored thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) (2 Corinthians 6:2).
