 The burnt offerings as such were brought voluntarily; still, it seems clear that this is not the sense of the Hebrew word “ratzon” here, but for his acceptance, to be in divine favor. It remains, just the same, doctrinally true that Christ, through the eternal Spirit, offered Himself without spot to God. (Leviticus 1 by J.N. Darby)
 {v.3-4} Christ presented Himself for the accomplishment of the purpose and glory of God where sin was. In the type the victim and the offerer were necessarily distinct, but Christ was both, and the hands of the offerer were laid on the head of the victim in sign of identity.
