(Rev. 13:5‑6,11)
the evil which began in apostolic days would be present within the scope of the profession of Christianity when the Lord comes to judgment. (The Epistle of Jude)
Those who had " crept in unawares" are those on whom the Lord will execute judgment when He comes. Enoch prophesied of these. (Verse. 14, 15.) The same set of people who in the apostle's day were coming in the Lord will judge. (Jude by J.N. Darby)
They could see that He was a man, and as they had no faith to see anything deeper, they only regarded Him as Son of Man. In that very character the Lord will judge them. He will judge them as the Man whom they despised. They will behold Him as the Man of everlasting glory. Not merely a divine person, but a man; and in that very quality-as Son of man-He will judge them. (Jude 10-13 by W. Kelly)
That is not the saints. The "all" are totally distinct from the saints. The saints had been caught up, and now come with Him who executes the judgment on all the sinners to be found in that day. (Jude 14-15 by W. Kelly)
In the spurious Book of Enoch, and which the learned people maintain that Jude quoted from, the doctrine taught is this, that the Lord "comes with ten thousands of his saints to execute judgment upon them." There you see is the error that betrays the devil in the forger, for I do not in the least doubt that that document has been forged from this very verse. It has every mark of having been written by a Jew subsequent to the destruction of Jerusalem, who still buoyed himself up with the hope that God would stand by the Jews. (Jude 14-15 by W. Kelly)
Words that gainsay God's mind, words that say the thing that is false of God. Job's friends did that….an ungodly deed might be an act of unrighteousness in a man, but an ungodly word might be a slurring of Christ. That is worse, and particularly if people receive it. (Jude 14-15 by W. Kelly)
the proverb is true that the corruption of that which is the most excellent is the worst of corruptions. (JUDE by J.N. Darby)
The repetition of the word "ungodly" cannot fail to arrest the attention; and it should also be noticed, that the Lord will "convince" them of their guilt; or rather "convict," demonstrate their sin so as to bring it home to them, so that they will be left without excuse. (article #86573)
