Together, as we have seen {Note v. 15}, they were forty-eight in number—that is, twelve times four. Twelve is administrative perfection; and four is completeness on earth. The whole number therefore will be administrative perfection displayed in all its completeness in Christ, or, if the boards are taken in connection with the divine dwelling place, through the house of God. (The Framework of the Tabernacle: Exodus 26:25-30 by E. Dennett)
