"Is Your Name Written There?"

There had been an explosion in a mine. Two young men risked their lives by going down into the mine to save a crippled friend.
When they brought him out, one man remarked, “God will surely mark that down in heaven.”
But “doing good deeds” is not the way to get our names written in heaven. The Bible says that “joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth.” Luke 15:77I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. (Luke 15:7).
It is by confessing to God that we are sinners, and receiving the Lord Jesus as our Saviour that we get our names written in heaven.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8,98For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8‑9).
