Fear Not

Two boys were alone with their father in a railway train. In the course of their journey they had to pass through a long tunnel, and as there was no light, they were plunged in total darkness.

The boys were afraid, and drew near to their father, and placed their hands in his. He told them it was all right and bade them not to fear. His presence and his word gave them comfort and cheer until they were through the tunnel and in the daylight again.

How sweet is the Lord’s word to His people, “Fear thou not: for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God,” Isaiah 41:10¹⁰Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. (Isaiah 41:10).

And again He says, “I will never leave thee nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, I will not fear.” Hebrews 13:5, 6⁵Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. ⁶So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. (Hebrews 13:5‑6).
