An Urgent Message

Listen from:
“Mommy!” yelled Micah as he ran into the house. “The dogs are eating money! Come quick!”
Micah’s mother looked up from her work. Her four-year-old son was excited about the dogs. They had only had the dogs for about two months, and Micah liked to play with them outside.
“Mommy!” Micah tried again, “the dogs are eating money!”
“What are you talking about?” asked his mother. There’s no money outside for the dogs to eat. Children! They do have the greatest imagination! she thought.
But Micah insisted that the dogs were eating money.
“Go tell your daddy,” his mother said. “Daddy’s outside anyway, and I’m busy.”
So Micah ran outside to find his dad. “Daddy!” he called, “the dogs are eating money!”
Now his dad was talking to a man when Micah came up. He was an insurance man who had come to look at some boards under the house that had been damaged. The man was partly under the house looking at the boards.
“Daddy, the dogs” began Micah again.
“Now, Micah,” said Daddy, “I’ve told you many times not to interrupt me when I’m talking to someone. Wait until I’m finished here.”
So Micah walked back to the yard where the dogs were and did the only thing he knew to do. He walked around the yard and began picking up the money. He couldn’t read and didn’t know how much it was, but he knew it was money! And nobody cared but he that the dogs were eating it!
A few minutes later the insurance man got out from under the house and then looked around.
“Where’s my money?” he asked.
“What money?” asked Micah’s dad.
“Just before I went under the house, I took the money out of my shirt pocket. I laid it on the ground here so it wouldn’t get wet when I went under the house,” the man said. “Where’d it go?”
Money! Micah... the dogs! Dad quickly went around the house, and then he saw it himself $20 bills scattered all around the yard! The men hurried to help Micah gather up all the bills and then counted to make sure they were all there... $400! They were relieved to find it was all safe, and then Micah’s daddy and mommy told him they were sorry they hadn’t listened to his message. It had been urgent!
If you are not saved from your sins, there’s an urgent message for you right now! The Bible says, “Prepare to meet thy God.” Amos 4:1212Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel. (Amos 4:12). This is a very important message for you, because “every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” Romans 14:1212So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. (Romans 14:12). You must stand before God and give account to Him of all that you have done. Are you prepared? You can be. God’s Word says, “The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 John 1:77But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (1 John 1:7). If you have been cleansed from your sins, they are gone! “I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins.... I have redeemed thee.” Isaiah 44:2222I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee. (Isaiah 44:22). When you stand before God, you won’t have to give an account for your sins, because Jesus took care of that for you. He already bore the punishment for your sins.
Micah’s mother hadn’t really believed his urgent message, and many today do not believe God’s message in the Bible. They have made up their own ideas about how the world began and about what’s right and wrong, because they do not believe what God says. But some day everyone will know that God’s Word is true. “Behold, He cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail [cry] because of Him.” Rev. 1:77Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. (Revelation 1:7).
When people finally believe that God’s Word is true in that day, it will be too late. That is why they will cry. You can believe God’s Word today and receive all the blessings that God wants to give you. Jesus said, “Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” John 20:2929Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. (John 20:29).
Micah’s dad had been too busy with other important matters to listen to Micah’s urgent message. Have you been too busy to listen to God’s message? Is having fun with your friends more important to you than God’s Word? Or is school work more important? Nothing should be more important to you than accepting the Lord Jesus as your Saviour! It’s a matter of heaven or hell!
When Micah’s dad looked over the money that the dogs had scattered, most of the bills were still fine. A few had been chewed, but were still okay. Micah’s mother said later, “Believe me, we listen to Micah now no matter how fantastic his story may sound.” God tells us that His message is worthy to be believed by everyone. “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” 1 Timothy 1:1515This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. (1 Timothy 1:15). The whole family learned a lesson that day about urgent messages. Have you?
