IS it because I am afraid of ridicule, and of I what others may say of me?
“Whosoever shall be ashamed of Me and of My words, of him shall the Son of Man be ashamed." (Luke 9:26.)
Is it because of the inconsistencies of professing Christians?
“Every one of us shall give account of himself to God." (Rom. 14:12.)
Is it because I am not willing to give up all for Christ?
“What shall it plop a man if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" (Mark
8:36.)
Is it because I am afraid I shall not be accepted?
“Him that cometh to Me, I will in no wise cast out." (John 6:37.)
Is it because I fear I am too great a sinner?
“The blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, cleanseth from all sin." (1 John 1:7)
Is it because I am afraid that I shall not “hold out"?
“He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
(Phil. 1:6.)
Is it because I am thinking that I will do the best I can, and that God ought to be satisfied with that?
“Whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, is guilty of all.”
(James 2:10.)
Is it because I am postponing the matter without any definite reason?
“Boast not thyself of to-morrow for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” Prov. 27:1
