“In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.” 2 Timothy 2:9-10
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. 1 Peter 3:3-4
I look in my closet
And what do I see?
Some tight-fitting Levi’s;
A skin-fitting “T.”
Dresses with necklines
That plunge and reveal,
Backless or clinging
My virtue to steal.
Mini-skirts many
And some with a slit.
See how my legs show,
Crossed, when I sit?
I know face my mirror
And what does it show?
The woman in Proverbs?
With wisdom? Oh no!
But there’s one perfect mirror
It’s God’s own true Book.
He tells how a woman
Who loves Him should look.
Who else really matters?
Whom else shall I please?
Let’s read His directions
While down on our knees.
