The Old, Old Story.

Listen from:
THE dear old lady is telling a story. Her face is so happy I am sure she is telling of the Saviour she loves. It is the old, old story of Jesus and His love. The little girl is so attentive, her heart, too, must be won by the love of the One who gave His life a ransom for many.
“GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS, THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS.” JOHN 15:1313Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13). “BUT GOD COMMENDETH HIS LOVE TOWARD US, IN THAT WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS CHRIST DIED FOR US.” ROM. 5:88But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8).
The picture reminds us of that beautiful old hymn:
Tell me the old, old story,
Of unseen things above,
Of Jesus and His glory,
Of Jesus and His love.
Tell me the story simply
As to a little child,
For I am weak and weary,
And helpless and defiled.
Tell me the same old story,
When you have cause to fear
That this world’s empty glory
Is costing me too dear,
Yes, and when that world’s glory
is dawning on my soul,
Tell me the old, old story:
“Christ Jesus makes thee whole.”
