And [Jesus] came and touched the bier.
A young man had died. As the funeral procession passed by, Jesus stepped forward and, seeing the grieving mother, who was also a widow, His heart went out to her. He reached out and touched the coffin. Then His command raised the young man back to life. Jesus has power over death. He conquered death Himself when He rose from the dead. Now His touch imparts life to the spiritually dead.
