Another very significant fact about the actions of the lame man who was healed is mentioned in Acts 3:1111And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering. (Acts 3:11). We are told here that the lame man “held” Peter and John. He wasn’t holding them for support because earlier we learn that he was “walking” and “leaping” after he was healed. No doubt he was holding them because he did not want to be separated from those who had been such a blessing to him.
This is a wonderful lesson for us. If we really value the blessing that the divinely-inspired writings of Peter and John (and the other writers of the Scriptures) have been to us, that is, if we value the truth of God revealed in their epistles, we will be set free to walk a happy Christian path without lameness or stumbling. And we will show our value of the precious Word of God by “holding fast” to these Scriptures that have been used to free us from our crippled condition.
