Serving.

Listen from:
THIS is the way the soldiers dressed a great many years ago. They do not look like the ones we see upon our streets today. How strong and ready they are to take up the hardships of the soldier life.
I think these men love the little girl near them. It may be that many of them have left dear ones at home and she makes them think of the time when the war will be over and they can see their loved ones again.
The child’s father or brother may be a soldier and she wants to love and serve all who are going through the same trials. I think she is giving them a drink of milk or water. She likes to serve them because she loves them dearly.
Do we love the Lord Jesus? Do we try to serve Him as this little girl serves the soldier’s? Even the very youngest child of God can serve Him. When Jesus was here, He said these words to His disciples: “For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in My name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.” Mark 9:4141For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward. (Mark 9:41).
Then in another verse He tells us that the Father will honor those who serve the Lord Jesus. Think of the Father honoring us, for any little service that we may be able to give Him, who has done so much for us. We find the verse in John 12:2626If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honor. (John 12:26).
“IF ANY MAN SERVE ME, LET HIM FOLLOW ME; AND WHERE I AM, THERE SHALL ALSO MY SERVANT BE: IF ANY MAN SERVE ME, HIM WILL MY FATHER HONOR.”
