Savior

As a single word, Savior, only occurs 25 times. Twice it is used in the sense of Preserver. (See Eph. 5:23 and 1 Tim. 4:10). This can be easily recognized by the context. In all other instances it is used in the full sense of Savior, that is of One, who offered Himself as a sacrifice for sin to God, thus satisfying the claims of Divine holiness, and enabling God righteously to offer salvation to all, who believe on our Lord as Savior.
