Sanctification in Two Aspects

Sanctified by the Offering of the Body of Jesus Christ
Through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ, everyone who believes, is for time, and eternity, set apart to God. Sanctification here is a position that changes not. Have you laid hold of this, dear fellow believer? Read again Heb. 10:1010By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. (Hebrews 10:10). In this aspect, the most careless believer and the most Godly are alike. God gives no liberty to sin, and sad indeed is the Christian who yields to it: but if he should go into sin until God lays His chastening hand upon him, and he is made weak and sickly, and even is made to sleep in death (1 Cor. 11:30,31,3230For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 31For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 32But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. (1 Corinthians 11:30‑32)), it in no way effects this aspect of his sanctification. In this aspect every saved one is sanctified; the weak in faith, the strong in faith, the careless saved and the Godly are all alike; actions and worthiness are not in this aspect in question in the least.
Sanctification by the Truth.
In this we get quite a different thought; it is the power or influence of the written Word of God, to cleanse and purify the Christian's walk and ways, and to occupy the mind and heart with the Lord Jesus Christ. The purifying influence of the written Word is almost beyond our comprehension. Jesus says, "Now ye are clean through the Word which I have spoken unto you." (John 15:33Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. (John 15:3).) And He prays to the Father, that His own might be sanctified by the truth. (John 17:1717Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. (John 17:17).) "Christ also loved the Church, and gave Himself for it, that He might sanctify and cleanse it, by the washing of water by the Word." (Eph. 5:2626That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, (Ephesians 5:26).) "Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to Thy Word." (Psa. 119:99BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. (Psalm 119:9).)
The Word of God has a wonderfully cleansing and separating power over the soul, and what a difference is seen in the life and home of the Christian
