• God, even if He had chastised, had been faithful and now had manifested His righteousness, faithfulness to His own ways and promises, the expectation He had raised, the trust He had called for. • The unrighteousness in Israel may have governmentally called for their afflictions; nevertheless, the righteousness of the Lord had not allowed the nations to prevail against Israel. Thus they own, “The LORD is righteous.” They justify the Lord in all His dealings. (“Psalm 129” by H. Smith)

• They also recall the bondage that Antichrist (“the wicked”) had the Jews under during the great tribulation; but have seen the power of the Lord exercised mightily in judgment upon him (vs. 4). (“Book 5.” by B. Anstey)
