• He recognizes that behind all God’s dealings in chastening there is the goodness of God, so that he can say, “Thou art good, and doest good.” God being good he desires to be taught of God. (“Psalm 119:65-72: Division 9 (Teth)” by H. Smith)
• Hence God is known in goodness in the subdued heart: “Thou art good and doest good.” The desire of the heart is after God's ways. Now “teach me thy statutes;” that is, the goodness the heart seeks.
