• His dependence is not merely the passive acknowledgment of general indebtedness to God; it is an active, wholehearted dependence that calls upon God, and does so with diligence that leads the believer to rise before the dawn to cry to the Lord. Moreover, his dependence is the outcome of confidence, for he can say, “I hoped in thy word.” (“Psalm 119:144-152: Division 19 (Koph)” by H. Smith)
• {v.147-148} There was diligence in the cry too, for the word, which led his heart, was trusted, but it was not only for the cry to be delivered he was diligent, but to meditate in Jehovah's word itself.
