• (vv. 5-9) The occasion of the praise is the deliverance of Israel. The Holy Spirit uses the experiences of a delivered individual, as representative of God’s way of intervention on behalf of the nation. • They speak with fullest trust and confidence in the Lord. If He could deliver them when they were in distress and bring them back to their land, He can surely take care of them there in spite of enemies (“them that hate me” vs. 7) still existing in the earth (vs. 5-9). (“Book 5.” by B. Anstey)
