God is the author of. Psa. 147:14¹⁴He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat. (Psalm 147:14). Isa. 45:7⁷I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things. (Isaiah 45:7). 1 Cor. 14:33³³For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. (1 Corinthians 14:33).

RESULTS FROM

Heavenly wisdom. James 3:17¹⁷But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. (James 3:17).

The government of Christ. Isa. 2:4⁴And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. (Isaiah 2:4).

Praying for rulers. 1 Tim. 2:2²For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. (1 Timothy 2:2).

Seeking the peace of those with whom we dwell. Jer. 29:7⁷And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace. (Jeremiah 29:7).

Necessary to the enjoyment of life. Psa. 34:12, 14¹²What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? (Psalm 34:12)
¹⁴Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. (Psalm 34:14), with 1 Peter 3:10, 11¹⁰For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: ¹¹Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. (1 Peter 3:10‑11).

GOD BESTOWS UPON THOSE WHO

Obey Him. Lev. 26:6⁶And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land. (Leviticus 26:6).

Please Him. Prov. 16:7⁷When a man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. (Proverbs 16:7).

Endure His chastisements. Job 5:17, 23, 24¹⁷Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: (Job 5:17)
²³For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee. ²⁴And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin. (Job 5:23‑24).

Is a bond of union. Eph. 4:3³Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:3).

The fruit of righteousness should be sown in. James 3:18¹⁸And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. (James 3:18).

The church shall enjoy. Psa. 125:5⁵As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the Lord shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel. (Psalm 125:5), Psa. 128:6⁶Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel. (Psalm 128:6). Isa. 2:4⁴And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. (Isaiah 2:4). Hos. 2:18¹⁸And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely. (Hosea 2:18).

SAINTS SHOULD

Love. Zech. 8:19¹⁹Thus saith the Lord of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace. (Zechariah 8:19).

Seek. Psa. 34:14¹⁴Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. (Psalm 34:14), with 1 Pet. 3:11¹¹Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. (1 Peter 3:11).

Follow. 2 Tim. 2:22²²Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. (2 Timothy 2:22).

Follow the things which make for Rom. 14:19¹⁹Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. (Romans 14:19).

Cultivate. Psa. 120:7⁷I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war. (Psalm 120:7).

Speak. Esther 10:3³For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed. (Esther 10:3).

Live in. 2 Cor. 13:11¹¹Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. (2 Corinthians 13:11).

Have, with each other. Mar. 9:59 1 Thess. 5:13¹³And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves. (1 Thessalonians 5:13).

Endeavor to have with all mom Rom. 12:18¹⁸If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. (Romans 12:18). Heb. 12:14¹⁴Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: (Hebrews 12:14).

Pray for that of the church Psa. 122:6-8⁶Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. ⁷Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. ⁸For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. (Psalm 122:6‑8).

Exhort others to. Gen. 45:24²⁴So he sent his brethren away, and they departed: and he said unto them, See that ye fall not out by the way. (Genesis 45:24).

Ministers should exhort to. 2 Thess. 3:12¹²Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. (2 Thessalonians 3:12).

Advantages of. Prov. 17:1¹Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife. (Proverbs 17:1), Bee. 4:8.

Blessedness of. Psa. 133:1¹<<A Song of degrees of David.>> Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! (Psalm 133:1).

Blessedness of promoting. Matt. 5:9⁹Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. (Matthew 5:9).

THE WICKED

Hypocritically speak. Psa. 28:3³Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbors, but mischief is in their hearts. (Psalm 28:3).

Speak not. Psa. 35:20²⁰For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land. (Psalm 35:20).

Enjoy not. Isa. 48:22²²There is no peace, saith the Lord, unto the wicked. (Isaiah 48:22). Eze, 7:25.

Opposed to. Psa. 120:7⁷I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war. (Psalm 120:7).

Hate. Psa. 120:6⁶My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace. (Psalm 120:6).

Shall abound in the latter days. Isa, 2:4. Isa. 11:13¹³The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim. (Isaiah 11:13). Isa. 32:18¹⁸And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places; (Isaiah 32:18).

Exemplified. Abraham, Gen. 13:8, 9⁸And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren. ⁹Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left. (Genesis 13:8‑9), Abimelech, Gen. 26:29²⁹That thou wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched thee, and as we have done unto thee nothing but good, and have sent thee away in peace: thou art now the blessed of the Lord. (Genesis 26:29).
