It distinguished the Lord as Son, and ought equally to mark the life of all the sons. “As obedient children” we are sanctified unto the obedience of Christ, which was not a mere legal obedience to any fixed code, but a life, whose only spring of action was the will of God, and whose only delight was to carry it out. Such ought to be the willing hearty character of Christian obedience.
