Not Ashamed of His Lord

Romans 1:16¹⁶For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16); 1 Peter 1:18-19; 2¹⁸Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; ¹⁹But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: (1 Peter 1:18‑19) Corinthians 4:7

A young convert tried to preach in the open air; he could not preach very well either, but he did the best he could. Someone interrupted him and said:

“Young man, you cannot preach; you ought to be ashamed of yourself.”

Said the young man, “So I am, but I am not ashamed of my Lord.”

That is right. Do not be ashamed of Christ — of the Man that bought us with His own blood.
