 The dealings of grace are properly connected with where He is; God is in His place when He is showing His own sovereign mercy. For judgment He comes out of His place. In His own nature God is not a judge, but One who gives and blesses. Judgment is “His strange work.” (Micah 1 by W. Kelly)
 Micah speaks poetically of the Lord as though He were the personal Leader of these invading armies (Mic. 1:3; Isa. 10:5-6; Joel 2:11 – “His army”). Though these things were historically accomplished by the Assyrian (first by Shalmaneser, then by Sargon), they are a foreshadow of the future invasion of the land of Israel by the King of the North (Dan. 11:40-42).
