Ex. 21:1‑23:33• 1{i}And these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.{/i}
2{i}If thou buy a Hebrew bondman, six years shall he serve; and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing{/i}.
3If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself; if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.
4If his master have given him a wife, and she have borne him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself.
5And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:
6then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl; and he shall serve him forever.
7{i}And if a man shall sell his daughter as a handmaid, she shall not go out as the bondmen go out.{/i}
8{i}If she is unacceptable in the eyes of her master, who had taken her for himself, then shall he let her be ransomed: to sell her unto a foreign people he hath no power, after having dealt unfaithfully with her.{/i}
9{i}And if he have appointed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the law of daughters.{/i}
10{i}If he take himself another, her food, her clothing, and her conjugal rights he shall not diminish.{/i}
11{i}And if he do not these three things unto her, then shall she go out free without money.{/i}
12{i}He that striketh a man, so that he die, shall certainly be put to death.{/i}
13{i}But if he have not lain in wait, and God have delivered him into his hand, I will appoint thee a place to which he shall flee.{/i}
14{i}But if a man act wantonly toward his neighbour, and slay him with guile, thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.{/i}
15{i}And he that striketh his father, or his mother, shall certainly be put to death.{/i}
16{i}And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall certainly be put to death.{/i}
17{i}And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall certainly be put to death.{/i}
18{i}And if men dispute, and one strike the other with a stone, or with the fist, and he die not, but take to his bed,{/i}
19{i}—if he rise, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that struck him be guiltless; only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.{/i}
20{i}And if a man strike his bondman or his handmaid with a staff, and he die under his hand, he shall certainly be avenged.{/i}
21{i}Only, if he continue to live a day or two days, he shall not be avenged; for he is his money.{/i}
22{i}And if men strive together, and strike a woman with child, so that she be delivered, and no mischief happen, he shall in any case be fined, according as the woman's husband shall impose on him, and shall give it as the judges estimate.{/i}
23{i}But if mischief happen, then thou shalt give life for life,{/i}
24{i}eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,{/i}
25{i}branding for branding, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.{/i}
26{i}And if a man strike the eye of his bondman or the eye of his handmaid, and it be marred, he shall let him go for his eye.{/i}
27{i}And if he knock out his bondman's tooth or his handmaid's tooth, he shall let him go free for his tooth.{/i}
28{i}And if an ox gore a man or a woman, so that they die, then the ox shall certainly be stoned, and its flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be guiltless.{/i}
29{i}But if the ox have gored heretofore, and it have been testified to its owner, and he have not kept it in, and it kill a man or a woman, —the ox shall be stoned, and its owner also shall be put to death.{/i}
30{i}If there be imposed on him a satisfaction, then he shall give the ransom of his life, according to what is imposed on him.{/i}
31{i}Whether it gore a son or gore a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done to him.{/i}
32{i}If the ox gore a bondman or a handmaid, he shall give to their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.{/i}
33{i}—And if a man open a pit, or if a man dig a pit, and do not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall into it,{/i}
34{i}the owner of the pit shall make it good, shall give money to the owner of them; and the dead ox shall be his.{/i}
35{i}—And if one man's ox gore his neighbour's ox, and it die, then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money thereof, and divide the dead also.{/i}
36{i}Or if it be known that the ox have gored heretofore, and its owner have not kept him in, he shall in any case restore ox for ox; and the dead shall be his.{/i}
1{i}If a man steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it, he shall restore five oxen for the ox, and four sheep for the sheep.{/i}
2{i}If the thief be encountered breaking in, and be smitten so that he die, there shall be no blood-guiltiness for him.{/i}
3{i}If the sun be risen on him, there shall be blood-guiltiness for him; he should have made full restitution: if he had nothing, he would have been sold for his theft.{/i}
4{i}If the stolen thing be actually found alive in his hand, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep, he shall restore double.{/i}
5{i}If a man shall cause a field or vineyard to be eaten, and put in his cattle, and pasture in another man's field, of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard shall he make it good.{/i}
6{i}—If fire break out, and seize the thorns, and the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field be consumed, he that kindled the fire shall fully make it good.{/i}
7{i}—If a man deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man's house; if the thief be found, let him restore double;{/i}
8{i}if the thief be not found, the master of the house shall be brought before the judges, to see if he has not put his hand unto his neighbour's goods.{/i}
9{i}As to all manner of fraud, —as to ox, as to ass, as to sheep, as to clothing, as to everything lost, of which a man saith, It is this—the cause of both parties shall come before the judges: he whom the judges shall condemn shall restore double to his neighbour.{/i}
10{i}If a man deliver unto his neighbour an ass, or an ox, or a sheep, or any cattle, to keep, and it die, or be hurt, or driven away, and no man see it,{/i}
11{i}an oath of Jehovah shall be between them both, that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbour's goods; and the owner of it shall accept it, and he shall not make it good.{/i}
12{i}But if it have been stolen from him, he shall make it good unto its owner.{/i}
13{i}If it have been torn in pieces, let him bring it as witness: he shall not make good what was torn.{/i}
14{i}—And if a man borrow anything of his neighbour, and it be hurt, or die, its owner not being with it, he shall fully make it good;{/i}
15{i}if the owner thereof be with it, he shall not make it good; if it be a hired thing, it came for its hire.{/i}
16{i}And if a man seduce a virgin that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall certainly endow her, to be his wife.{/i}
17{i}If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall weigh money according to the dowry of virgins.{/i}
18{i}—Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.{/i}
19{i}—Every one that lieth with a beast shall certainly be put to death.{/i}
20{i}—He that sacrificeth to any god, save to Jehovah only, shall be devoted to destruction.{/i}
21{i}Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him; for ye have been strangers in the land of Egypt.{/i}
22{i}Ye shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child.{/i}
23{i}If thou afflict him in any way, if he cry at all unto me, I will certainly hear his cry;{/i}
24{i}and my anger shall burn, and I will slay you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.{/i}
25{i}—If thou lend money to my people, the poor with thee, thou shalt not be to him as a usurer: ye shall charge him no interest.{/i}
26{i}—If thou at all take thy neighbour's garment in pledge, thou shalt return it to him before the sun goes down;{/i}
27{i}for that is his only covering, his garment for his skin: on what shall he lie down? And it shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.{/i}
28{i}Thou shalt not revile the judges, nor curse a prince amongst thy people.{/i}
29{i}—Thou shalt not delay the fullness of thy threshing-floor and the outflow of thy winepress. The firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me.{/i}
30{i}Likewise shalt thou do with thy calf, with thy sheep: seven days shall it be with its dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give it me.{/i}
31{i}—And ye shall be holy men unto me; and ye shall not eat flesh torn in the field: ye shall cast it to the dog.{/i}
1{i}Thou shalt not accept a false report; extend not thy hand to the wicked, to be an unrighteous witness.{/i}
2{i}Thou shalt not follow the multitude for evil; neither shalt thou answer in a cause, to go after the multitude to pervert judgment.{/i}
3{i}Neither shalt thou favour a poor man in his cause.{/i}
4{i}—If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt certainly bring it back to him.{/i}
5{i}If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under its burden, beware of leaving it to him: thou shalt certainly loosen it with him.{/i}
6{i}Thou shalt not pervert the judgment of thy poor in his cause.{/i}
7{i}Thou shalt keep far from the cause of falsehood; and the innocent and righteous slay not; for I will not justify the wicked.{/i}
8{i}And thou shalt take no bribe; for the bribe blindeth those whose eyes are open, and perverteth the words of the righteous.{/i}
9{i}And the stranger thou shalt not oppress; for ye know the spirit of the stranger, for ye have been strangers in the land of Egypt.{/i}
10{i}And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and gather in its produce;{/i}
11{i}but in the seventh thou shalt let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of thy people may eat of it; and what they leave, the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thine olive-tree.{/i}
12{i}—Six days thou shalt do thy work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest; that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger may be refreshed.{/i}
13{i}And ye shall be on your guard as to everything that I have said unto you; and shall make no mention of the name of other gods—it shall not be heard in thy mouth.{/i}
14{i}Thrice in the year thou shalt celebrate a feast to me.{/i}
15{i}Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread, (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I have commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt; and none shall appear in my presence empty;){/i}
16{i}and the feast of harvest, the first-fruits of thy labours which thou hast sown in the field, and the feast of in-gathering, at the end of the year, when thou gatherest in thy labours out of the field.{/i}
17{i}Three times in the year all thy males shall appear in the presence of the Lord Jehovah.{/i}
18{i}Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of my feast remain all night until the morning.{/i}
19{i}The first of the first-fruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of Jehovah thy God. Thou shalt not boil a kid in its mother's milk.{/i}
20{i}Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee to the place that I have prepared.{/i}
21{i}Be careful in his presence, and hearken unto his voice: do not provoke him, for he will not forgive your transgressions; for my name is in him.{/i}
22{i}But if thou shalt diligently hearken unto his voice, and do all that I shall say, then I will be an enemy to thine enemies, and an adversary to thine adversaries.{/i}
23{i}For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites and the Hittites and the Perizzites and the Canaanites, the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will cut them off.{/i}
24{i}Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their deeds; but thou shalt utterly destroy them, and utterly shatter their statues.{/i}
25{i}And ye shall serve Jehovah your God; and he shall bless thy bread and thy water; and I will take sickness away from thy midst.{/i}
26{i}There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land; the number of thy days will I fulfil.{/i}
27{i}I will send my fear before thee, and confound every people to which thou comest, and will make all thine enemies turn their back to thee.{/i}
28{i}And I will send hornets before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee.{/i}
29{i}I will not drive them out from before thee in one year: lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.{/i}
30{i}By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou art fruitful, and possess the land.{/i}
31{i}And I will set thy bounds from the Red Sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness unto the river; for I will give the inhabitants of the land into your hand, that thou mayest dispossess them from before thee.{/i}
32{i}Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.{/i}
33{i}They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me; for if thou serve their gods, it is sure to be a snare unto thee.{/i} (Ex. 21:1‑23:33)
Lev. 1:1‑7:38• 1And Jehovah called unto Moses and spoke to him out of the tent of meeting, saying,
2Speak unto the children of Israel and say unto them, When a man of you presenteth an offering to Jehovah, ye shall present your offering of the cattle, of the herd and of the flock.
3If his offering [be] a burnt offering of the herd, he shall present it a male, perfect; at the entrance of the tent of meeting he shall present it for his acceptance before Jehovah.
4And he shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to atone for him.
5And he shall slay the bullock before Jehovah; and Aaron's sons, the priests, shall present the blood and sprinkle the blood round about on the altar that [is at] the entrance of the tent of meeting.
6And he shall flay the burnt offering and cut it up into its pieces.
7And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire on the altar, and lay wood in order on the fire;
8and Aaron's sons, the priests shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat, in order on the wood that [is] on the fire which [is] on the altar.
9But its inwards and its legs shall he wash in water; and the priest shall burn all on the altar, a burnt offering, a fire-offering of sweet odour to Jehovah.
10And if his offering be of the flock, of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt-offering, he shall present it a male perfect.
11And he shall slay it on the side of the altar northward before Jehovah; and Aaron's sons the priests shall sprinkle its blood on the altar round about.
12And he shall cut it into its pieces, and its head, and its fat. And the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire on the altar;
13but the inwards and the legs shall be washed with water. And the priest shall present all and burn on the altar; it is a burnt-offering, a fire-offering of sweet savour to Jehovah.
14And if his offering to Jehovah be a burnt-offering of fowls, then he shall present his offering of turtle-doves or of young pigeons.
15And the priest shall bring it near to the altar, and wring off its head, and burn it on the altar; and its blood shall be drained out at the side of the altar.
16And he shall take away its crop with its feathers and cast it beside the altar on the east into the place of the ashes;
17and he shall split it at its wings, [but] not divide [it] asunder; and the priest shall burn it on the altar on the wood that is on the fire: it is a burnt-offering, a fire-offering of sweet savour to Jehovah.
1And when any one [a soul] presents an oblation to Jehovah, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon.
2And he shall bring it to Aaron's sons the priests; and he shall take there-out his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the memorial thereof on the altar, a fire-offering of sweet odour to Jehovah.
3And the remainder of the oblation shall be Aaron's and his sons': [it is] most holy of Jehovah's fire-offerings.
4And when thou presentest an oblation of a meal-offering a baking of the oven, [it shall be] unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.
5And if thine oblation [be] a meal-offering on the plate, it shall be fine flour unleavened, mingled with oil.
6Thou shalt part it in pieces, and pour oil thereon: it [is] a meal-offering.
7And if thine oblation [be] a meal-offering in the earthen pan , it shall be made of fine flour with oil.
8And thou shalt bring the oblation that is made of these things to Jehovah; and it shall be presented to the priest, and he shall bring it to the altar.
9And the priest shall take from the meal-offering a memorial thereof, and shall burn [it] on the altar, a fire-offering of a sweet odour to Jehovah.
10And the remainder of the meal-offering [shall be] Aaron's and his sons' [it is] most holy of Jehovah's fire-offerings.
11No meal-offering which ye shall offer to Jehovah shall be made with leaven; for ye shall burn no leaven and no honey as a fire-offering to Jehovah.
12As to offering of first fruits, ye shall offer them to Jehovah; but they shall not come up for a sweet odour on the altar.
13And every offering of thy meal-offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meal-offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.
14And if thou offer an oblation of firstfruits to Jehovah, thou shalt offer for thine oblation of thy firstfruits green ears of corn parched with fire, corn beaten out of full ear.
15And thou shalt put oil on it, and lay frankincense thereon; it is an oblation.
16And the priest shall burn the memorial of it, of the beaten corn thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; [it is] a fire-offering to Jehovah.
1And if his oblation be a sacrifice of peace offerings, if he present of the herd whether male or female, he shall present it without blemish before Jehovah.
2And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his oblation, and slaughter it at the entrance of the tent of meeting; and Aaron's sons the priests shall sprinkle of the blood round about on the altar.
3And he shall present of the sacrifice of peace offerings a fire offering unto Jehovah: the fat that covereth the inwards and all the fat that is on the inwards,
4and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them, which is by the flanks, and the net above the liver which he shall take away as far as the kidneys;
5and Aaron's sons shall burn it on the altar upon the burnt offering which is on the wood that is upon the fire: a fire offering of sweet odour to Jehovah.
6{i}And if his offering for a sacrifice of peace-offering to Jehovah be of small cattle, male or female, he shall present it without blemish.{/i}
7{i}If he present a sheep for his offering,{/i} then he shall present it before Jehovah
8and he shall lay his hand on the head of it, and slaughter it before the tent of meeting. And the sons of Aaron shall sprinkle the blood of it on the altar round about
9{i}And he shall present of the sacrifice of peace-offering an offering by fire to Jehovah; the fat thereof{/i}, the whole fat tail, he shall take it away close by the backbone, the fat that covereth the inwards and all the fat that [is] on the inwards,
10and the two kidneys and the fat that [is] on them which [is] by the flank, and the net above the liver, he shall take away as far as the kidneys;
11and the priest shall burn them on the altar, the food of the fire offering for a sweet odour{i}.
12And if his offering [be] a goat, then he shall present it before Jehovah;
13and he shall lay his hand on the head of it, and slaughter it before the tent of meeting. And the sons of Aaron shall sprinkle the blood of it on the altar round about.
14And he shall present thereof his offering, a fire offering to Jehovah: the fat that covereth the inwards and all the fat that [is] on the inwards,
15and the two kidneys and the fat that [is] on them which [is] by the flank, and the net above the liver, he shall take away as far as the kidneys.
16And the priest shall burn them on the altar, the food of the fire offering for a sweet odour. All the fat [is] Jehovah's.
17[It is] an everlasting statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings: no fat and no blood shall ye eat.
1And Jehovah spoke to Moses saying,
2Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin inadvertently against any of Jehovah's commandments, that ought not to be done, and do any of them;
3if the anointed priest sin to the trespass of the people, let him offer, for his sin which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish to Jehovah for a sin offering.
4And he shall bring the bullock to the entrance of the tent of meeting before Jehovah; and he shall lay his hand upon the head of the bullock, and slaughter the bullock before Jehovah.
5And the anointed priest shall take of the blood of the bullock, and bring it into the tent of meeting.
6And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle of the blood seven times before Jehovah, before the veil of the sanctuary.
7And the priest shall put of the blood on the horns of the altar of sweet incense before Jehovah, which is in the tent of meeting; and he shall pour all the blood of the bullock at the bottom of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the entrance of the tent of meeting.
8And all the fat of the bullock of the sin offering he shall take off from it: the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is on the inwards,
9and the two kidneys and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the net above the liver which he shall take away as far as the kidneys,
10as it is taken off from the ox of the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall burn them upon the altar of burnt offering.
11And the skin of the bullock, and all its flesh, with its head, and with its legs, and its inwards and its dung,
12even the whole bullock shall he carry forth without the camp unto a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire: where the ashes are poured out shall it be burnt.
13And if the whole assembly of Israel err and the thing be hid from the eyes of the congregation, and they have done any of all the commandments of Jehovah which should not be done, and are guilty;
14and the sin wherein they have sinned against it is become known; then the congregation shall present a young bullock for the sin offering, and bring it before the tent of meeting.
15And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands upon the head of the bullock before Jehovah; and the bullock shall be slaughtered before Jehovah.
16And the anointed priest shall bring of the bullock's blood into the tent of meeting;
17and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before Jehovah before the veil.
18And he shall put of the blood on the horns of the altar that is before Jehovah, which is in the tent of meeting; and he shall pour out all the blood at the bottom of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the tent of meeting.
19And all its fat shall he take off from it and burn it on the altar.
20And he shall do with the bullock as he did with the bullock of the sin offering, so shall he do with this. And the priest shall make atonement for them; and it shall be forgiven them.
21And he shall carry forth the bullock without the camp, and burn it as he burned the first bullock: it is a sin offering of the congregation.
22When a ruler sinneth and through inadvertence doeth any of all the things which Jehovah his God hath commanded not to be done, and is guilty;
23if his sin wherein he hath sinned come to his knowledge, he shall bring his offering, a buck of the goats, a male without blemish.
24And he shall lay his hand on the head of the goat, and slaughter it at the place where they slaughter the burnt offering before Jehovah; it is a sin offering.
25And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour out its blood at the bottom of the altar of burnt offering.
26And he shall burn all its fat on the altar, as the fat from off the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall make an atonement for him from his sin; and it shall be forgiven him.
27And if one (a soul) of the people of the land sin through inadvertence in doing any things which Jehovah hath commanded not to be done, and be guilty;
28if his sin which he hath sinned come to his knowledge, then he shall bring his offering a goat, a female without blemish for his sin which he hath sinned.
29And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and slaughter the sin offering at the place of the burnt offering.
30And the priest shall take of the blood thereof with his finger, and put [it] on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour out all the blood thereof at the bottom of the altar.
31And all the fat thereof shall he take away, as the fat is taken away from off the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall burn it on the altar for a sweet odour to Jehovah; and the priest shall make atonement for him, and it shall be forgiven him.
32And if he bring a lamb as his offering for a sin offering, he shall bring it a female without blemish.
33And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and slaughter it for a sin offering in the place where they slaughter the burnt offering.
34And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering; and all the blood thereof shall he pour out at the bottom of the altar.
35And all the fat thereof shall he take away, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall burn them on the altar with the fire offerings to Jehovah; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin which he sinned, and it shall be forgiven him.
1And if a soul sin, and hear the voice of an oath, and he is a witness whether he hath seen or known, if he do not inform, then he shall bear his iniquity.
2Or if a soul touch any unclean thing, whether it be the carcass of an unclean beast, or the carcass of unclean cattle, or the carcass of unclean creeping things, and it be hid from him, he also is unclean and guilty.
3Or if he touch the uncleanness of man, any uncleanness of him by which he is defiled, and it be hid from him, when he knoweth, then he shall be guilty.
4Or if a soul swear rashly with his lips, to do evil or to do good, in everything that a man shall say rashly with an oath, and it be hid from him, when he knoweth, then shall he be guilty in one of these.
5And it shall be when he shall be guilty in one of these, that he shall confess wherein he hath sinned;
6and he shall bring his trespass to Jehovah for his sin which he hath sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a goat for a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him from his sin.
7And if his hand be not able to bring a lamb, then he shall bring to Jehovah for his trespass which he hath sinned two turtle doves or two young pigeons; one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering.
8And he shall bring them to the priest, who shall offer that which is for the sin offering first, and pinch off its head at the neck, but shall not divide it asunder;
9and he shall sprinkle of the blood of the sin offering on the wall of the altar; and the rest of the blood shall be wrung out at the bottom of the altar: {i}it is a sin-offering{/i}.
10And he shall offer the second for a burnt offering according to the ordinance. And the priest shall make atonement for him from his sin which he hath sinned; and it shall be forgiven him.
11But if his hand cannot attain to two turtledoves or two young pigeons, then he that hath sinned shall bring for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering; he shall put no oil on it, nor shall he put frankincense thereon, for it is a sin offering.
12And he shall bring it to the priest, and the priest shall take his handful of it, the memorial thereof and burn it on the altar with Jehovah's fire offering: it is a sin offering.
13And the priest shall make atonement for him from his sin which he hath sinned in one of them, and it shall be forgiven him; and it shall be the priest's as the oblation.
14And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
15If any one commit a perfidy, and sin inadvertently in the holy things of Jehovah, then he shall bring his trespass offering to Jehovah, a ram without blemish out of the flock, according to thine estimation by shekels of silver after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering.
16And he shall make restitution for what he hath done amiss in the holy thing, and shall add the fifth part thereto, and give it unto the priest; and the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering; and it shall be forgiven him.
17And if any one sin or do against any of all the commandments of Jehovah what should not be done, and hath not known, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.
18And he shall bring a ram without blemish out of the flock according to thine estimation for a trespass offering unto the priest; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his inadvertence wherein he sinned inadvertently, and knew it not; and it shall be forgiven him.
19It is a trespass offering: he is certainly guilty before Jehovah.
1And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
2If anyone sin, and commit a perfidy against Jehovah, and lie to his neighbour as to a matter of trust, or a loan, or a robbery, or a cheat to his neighbour;
3or have found what was lost and lieth therein, and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein,
4then it shall be, if he hath sinned and hath trespassed that he shall restore what he robbed, or what he defrauded, or the trust entrusted to him, or the lost thing which he found,
5or all about which he swore falsely; and he shall restore it in the principal and shall add the fifth part more thereto; to whom it belongeth shall he give it on the day of his trespass-offering.
6And his trespass offering he shall bring to Jehovah, a ram without blemish out of the flock according to thy valuation as a trespass offering unto the priest.
7And the priest shall make atonement for him before Jehovah, and it shall be forgiven him concerning anything of all he did to trespass therein.
8And Jehovah spoke to Moses saying,
9Command Aaron and his sons, saying, This [is] the law of the burnt offering: this, the burnt offering, [shall be] on the hearth upon the altar all night unto the morning, and the fire of the altar shall be kept burning on it.
10And the priest shall put on his linen raiment, and his linen breeches shall he put on his flesh, and he shall take up the ashes to which the fire hath consumed the burnt offering upon the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar.
11And he shall put off his garments, and put on other garments, and carry forth the ashes without the camp unto a clean place.
12And the fire upon the altar shall be kept burning on it, it shall not go out; and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it, and shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings.
13Fire continual shall be kept burning upon the altar; it shall not go out.
14And this is the law of the meal offering; the sons of Aaron shall present it before Jehovah, before the altar.
15And he shall take of it his handful of the fine flour of the meal offering and of the oil thereof, and all the frankincense which is on the meal offering, and shall burn [it] on the altar: a sweet odour of the memorial thereof to Jehovah.
16And the remainder thereof Aaron and his sons shall eat: unleavened shall it be eaten in a holy place; in the court of the tent of meeting shall they eat it.
17It shall not be baked with leaven. As their portion I have given it of my fire offerings: it is most holy, as the sin offering and as the trespass offering.
18All the males among the children of Aaron shall eat of it: an everlasting statute in your generations, from Jehovah's fire offerings; whatever toucheth these shall be holy.
19And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
20This [is] the offering of Aaron and his sons, which they shall present to Jehovah on the day when he is anointed: the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour, as a continual meal offering, half of it in the morning and half of it in the evening.
21In a pan with oil it shall be made; saturated thou shalt bring it in; baken pieces of the meal offering shalt thou present, a sweet odour unto Jehovah.
22And the anointed priest that shall be in his stead from his sons, shall make it: an everlasting statute, it shall be wholly burnt unto Jehovah.
23And every meal offering of the priest shall be wholly burnt; it shall not be eaten.
24And Jehovah spake to Moses, saying,
25Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, This [is] the law of the sin offering. In the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, the sin offering shall be slaughtered before Jehovah: it [is] most holy.
26The priest that offereth it for sin shall eat it; it shall be eaten in a holy place, in the court of the tent of meeting.
27Whatsoever toucheth the flesh thereof shall be holy; and if there be sprinkled of the blood thereof on a garment, that whereon it was sprinkled thou shalt wash in a holy place.
28But the earthen vessel wherein it was sodden shall be broken; and if it was sodden in a copper vessel it shall be both scoured and rinsed in water.
29Every male among the priests shall eat thereof: it [is] most holy.
30And no sin offering whereof blood is brought into the tent of meeting to make atonement in the holy [place] shall be eaten: it shall be burnt with fire.
1And this [is] the law of the trespass offering: it [is] most holy.
2In the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered shall the trespass offering be slaughtered; and the blood shall be sprinkled on the altar round about.
3And he shall offer of it all the fat thereof: the fat tail, and the fat that covereth the inwards,
4and the two kidneys, and the fat that [is] on them, which [is] by the flanks, and the net above the liver which he shall take as far as the kidneys.
5And the priest shall burn them on the altar, a fire offering to Jehovah: it [is] a trespass offering.
6Every male among the priests shall eat thereof: in a holy place shall it be eaten; it [is] most holy.
7As the sin offering, so is the trespass offering; one law [is] for them: it shall be the priest's that maketh atonement therewith.
8And the priest that offereth any man's burnt offering, the priest shall have to himself the skin of the burnt offering which he hath offered.
9And every meal offering that is baken in the oven, and all that is prepared in the cauldron and in the pan, shall be the priest's that offereth it; to him it shall belong.
10And every meal offering, mingled with oil and dry, shall all the sons of Aaron have, one as another.
11And this is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which [one] shall offer to Jehovah.
12If he shall offer it for a thanksgiving, then he shall offer with the sacrifice of thanksgiving unleavened cakes mingled with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and cakes mingled with oil, fine flour soaked.
13Besides the cakes, he shall offer his offering of leavened bread with the sacrifice of his peace offerings for thanksgiving.
14And of it he shall offer one out of the whole offering as a heave offering to Jehovah; to the priest that sprinkleth the blood of the peace offerings it shall be.
15And the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings for thanksgiving shall be eaten on the day of his offering: he shall not leave any of it until the morning.
16And if the sacrifice of his offering be a vow, or voluntary, it shall be eaten on the day he offereth his sacrifice, and on the morrow the remainder of it shall be eaten;
17and the remainder of the flesh of the sacrifice on the third day shall be burnt with fire.
18And if [any] of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings be eaten on the third day, it shall not be accepted, nor shall it be reckoned to him that offered it; it shall be an unclean thing, and the soul that eateth of it shall bear his iniquity.
19And the flesh that toucheth any unclean thing shall not be eaten; it shall be burnt with fire. And as for the flesh, all that are clean shall eat the flesh;
20but the soul that eateth the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings that are for Jehovah, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from his peoples.
21And if a soul touch anything unclean, the uncleanness of man or unclean beast or any unclean abomination, and eat of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings that are for Jehovah, that soul shall be cut off from his peoples.
22And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
23Speak to the children of Israel, saying, Ye shall eat no fat of ox, or sheep, or goat.
24And the fat of a dead carcass, and the fat of that which is torn, may be used in any other service; but ye shall in no wise eat it.
25For whosoever eateth the fat of the beast of which men offer a fire offering to Jehovah, the soul that eateth shall be cut off from his peoples.
26And ye shall eat no blood of fowl or beast, in any of your dwellings.
27Whatever soul [it be] that eateth any manner of blood shall be cut off from his peoples.
28And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
29Speak to the children of Israel, saying, He that offereth the sacrifice of his peace offerings to Jehovah shall bring his oblation to Jehovah of the sacrifice of his peace offerings.
30His own hands shall bring Jehovah's fire offerings: the fat with the breast shall he bring, that the breast may be waved as a wave offering before Jehovah.
31And the priest shall burn the fat on the altar; and the breast shall be Aaron's and his sons.
32And the right shoulder shall ye give to the priest for a heave offering out of the sacrifice of your peace offerings.
33He of the sons of Aaron that offereth the blood of the peace offerings and the fat shall have the right shoulder for a portion.
34For the breast of the wave offering and the shoulder of the heave offering have I taken of the children of Israel from the sacrifices of their peace offerings, and have given them to Aaron the priest and to his sons from the children of Israel, as a due portion forever.
35This is the portion of the anointing of Aaron, and of the anointing of his sons, from Jehovah's fire offerings, in the day he brought them next to serve Jehovah as priests,
36which Jehovah commanded to be given them by the children of Israel in the day that he anointed them, as a due portion forever throughout their generations.
37This [is] the law of the burnt offering, of the meal offering, and of the sin offering, and of the trespass offering, and of the consecration offering, and of the sacrifice of peace offerings;
38which Jehovah commanded Moses in mount Sinai, in the day that he commanded the children of Israel to present their offerings to Jehovah, in the wilderness of Sinai. (Lev. 1:1‑7:38)
