Some Edd. accept the phrase "and said, Ye know not of what spirit ye are." Other Edd. reject. At the beginning of verse 56 a few MSS. include "For the Son of man has not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save [them]." The Edd. omit on good authority. It would seem to be an interpolation.
