Little Helen's Faith

I THANK JESUS that He was punished for me."
Such was little Helen's confession of faith in Christ. It was simple and brief, but full of truth and meaning.
She knew herself to be a sinner, and that she deserved punishment; but she saw a Saviour that bore that punishment instead of herself, she believed God's word, and accepted His Substitute. She applied to herself these words, "The Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all." Isaiah 53:66All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. (Isaiah 53:6).
"Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish." Matt. 18:1414Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. (Matthew 18:14).
