(men of Tob). Part of Aram (2 Sam. 10:6-8). [TOB.]

Concise Bible Dictionary:

A state which supplied 12,000 men to the children of Ammon to fight against David (2 Sam. 10:6,8). In the margin it reads “men of Tob.” It was to “the land of Tob” that Jephthah fled from his brethren (Judg. 11:3,5). It is supposed to be on the east of Jebel Hauran.
