God's Time or the Devil's

People sometimes answer, when asked why they have not received the Lord Jesus and become a Christian, “I’m waiting for God’s time!” That is really refusing “God’s time,” which is now, and putting it off until the devil’s time-which is never!

God says, “Acquaint now thyself with Him [God], and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee” (Job 22:21²¹Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. (Job 22:21)).

“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth” (Eccl. 12:1¹Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; (Ecclesiastes 12:1)).

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool” (Isa. 1:18¹⁸Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. (Isaiah 1:18)). “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Cor. 6:2²(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succored thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) (2 Corinthians 6:2)).

All these verses, and many more that might be quoted, are enough to show that it is the devil and not God that is persuading people to postpone the settlement of the most important decision a person can make: decision for Christ Jesus.
