Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God  .  .  .  but Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the Lord.
God was seeking out king Ahaz. God wanted to prove Himself to the unbelieving king; but Ahaz would not give Him the chance. If you are weak in faith, God is gracious; He will reveal Himself to those who earnestly seek Him: it may be by a sign or by an answer to prayer or just by a sense of His presence. Let Him strengthen and encourage you. Don’t be like Ahaz; give God a chance.
