Gen. 28:3‑20• 3And God Almighty [El Shaddai] bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a company of peoples.
4And may he give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest possess the land of thy sojournings, which God gave to Abraham.
5And Isaac sent away Jacob; and he went to Padan-Aram, to Laban son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, mother of Jacob and Esau.
6Now Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob and sent him away to Padan-Aram, to take him a wife thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan;
7and [that] Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padan-Aram.
8And Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father.
9And Esau went to Ishmael, and took, unto the wives which he had, Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael, Abraham's son, sister of Nebaioth, to be his wife.
10And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran.
11And he lighted on the place, and lodged there, because the sun was set. And he took of the stones of the place, and made his pillows, and lay down in that place.
12And he dreamed, and behold, a ladder set up on earth, and its top reached to the heavens. And behold, angels of God ascended and descended upon it.
13And behold, Jehovah stood above it, and said, I am Jehovah, God of Abraham thy father, and God of Isaac: the land on which thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed.
14And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt break forth to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south; and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
15And behold, I [am] with thee, and will keep thee in all [places] whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee till I have done that of which I have spoken to thee.
16And Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, Surely Jehovah is in this place, and I knew [it] not.
17And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful [is] this place! this [is] none other but God's house, and this the gate of the heavens.
18And Jacob rose early in the morning, and took the stone that he made his pillows, and set it [for] a pillar and poured oil upon its top.
19And he called the name of that place Bethel; but the name of that city was Luz at first.
20And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and keep me on this road that I go, and give me bread to eat and raiment to put on, (Gen. 28:3‑20)

Num. 34:2‑15• 2{i}Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land of Canaan, this shall be the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, the land of Canaan according to the borders thereof.{/i}
3{i}Then your south side shall be from the wilderness of Zin alongside of Edom, and your southern border shall be from the end of the salt sea eastward;{/i}
4{i}and your border shall turn from the south of the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin, and shall end southward at Kadesh-barnea, and shall go on to Hazar-Addar, and pass on to Azmon.{/i}
5{i}And the border shall turn from Azmon unto the torrent of Egypt, and shall end at the sea.{/i}
6{i}And as west border ye shall have the great sea, and its coast. This shall be your west border.{/i}
7{i}And this shall be your north border: from the great sea ye shall mark out for you mount Hor;{/i}
8{i}from mount Hor ye shall mark out the entrance to Hamath, and the end of the border shall be toward Zedad;{/i}
9{i}and the border shall go to Ziphron, and shall end at Hazar-enan. This shall be your north border.{/i}
10{i}And ye shall mark out for you as eastern border from Hazar-enan to Shepham:{/i}
11{i}and the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; and the border shall descend, and shall strike upon the extremity of the sea of Chinnereth eastward;{/i}
12{i}and the border shall go down to the Jordan, and shall end at the salt sea. This shall be your land according to the borders thereof round about.{/i}
13{i}And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, This is the land which ye shall take for yourselves as inheritance by lot, which Jehovah commanded to give to the nine tribes, and to the half tribe.{/i}
14{i}For the tribe of the children of the Reubenites according to their fathers' houses, and the tribe of the children of the Gadites according to their fathers' houses, have received, and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance;{/i}
15{i}the two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side the Jordan of Jericho eastward, toward the sun-rising.{/i} (Num. 34:2‑15)
