God has always desired to have the perpetual adoration of His redeemed. We thus read of singers in connection with His service who “were employed in that work day and night” (1 Chron. 9:3333And these are the singers, chief of the fathers of the Levites, who remaining in the chambers were free: for they were employed in that work day and night. (1 Chronicles 9:33)). And when the Lord was parted from His disciples, He blessed them, and was carried up into heaven.
“And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God.”
Then, too, there are the four living creatures who rest not day and night in their ascriptions of praise.
So will it be when all the redeemed are gathered around the Lord in heaven. Their whole existence will be characterized by continual never-ending praise!
If here on earth the thoughts of Jesus’ love
Lift our poor hearts this weary world above;
If even here the taste of heavenly springs
So cheers the spirit, that the pilgrim sings;
What will the sunshine of His glory prove?
What the unmingled fullness of His love?
What hallelujahs will His presence raise?
What but one loud eternal burst of praise?
