The Believer’s History in Four Words
“Found” in a desert land,
Far, far from home and light:
“Found” captive ‘neath a tyrant’s hand,
Wrapped in the shades of night.
“Led” forth from slavery’s thrall,
“Led” into liberty;
“Led” to obey the Saviour’s call
Inviting—“Follow Me!”
“Instructed” by His eye,
Led through the wilderness;
“Instructed” where, and how, and why
In blessing He doth bless.
“Kept” from the tempter’s power,
“Kept” for the Lord alone;
“Kept” unto resurrection’s hour,
“Kept” as His loved—His own!
