Faithful and Just
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." I John 1:9.
"The blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, cleanseth us from all sin." 1 John 1:7.
Ever faithful and just is our Savior,
Ever righteous and holy is He;
If we humbly confess our transgression,
He forgives and the conscience' is free.
For the ground is the blood of Christ Jesus,
Which was shed upon Calvary's cross,
To atone for the sins of His people,
When He died to redeem them from loss.
For His blood is fore'er efficacious
To make clean from the vilest of sin,
To restore His own child in communion,
And give peace and enjoyment within.
If to Jesus we flee in confession,.
In His goodness and mercy will trust,—
There is pardon and peace in abundance,
For He ever is faithful and just.
He is gracious and merciful ever,
He removes from the heart fear and doubt,
He forgives and restores in communion,
And our sins are fore'er blotted out.
He desires that His children be happy,
'Twas His love that accomplished this plan,
And His blood is the propitiation
For the sins and transgressions of man.
Savior, keep our souls ever abiding
In Thy matchless and marvelous love;
In the joy of unbroken communion
With our Father in heaven above.
