Ex. 28:14• 14And two chains of pure gold at the ends; of wreathen work shalt thou make them, and fasten the wreathen chains to the ouches. (Ex. 28:14)
• The breastplate was fastened by wreathen chains of gold, and “a lace of blue,” {Ex. 28:28} and rings of gold {Ex. 28:26} to the ephod. We gather, then, that the breastplate cannot be detached from the ephod. It is bound up inseparably with the priestly office of Christ. It is fastened to the ephod—the priestly garment—by chains of gold, in divine righteousness, divine righteousness as suited to the nature of God, by all that Christ is therefore as divine.
