Coyote Attack!

Listen from:
Being recently attacked by a coyote has left a Canadian woman still in shock. Joanne said she never expected anything like this to happen to her as she walked her two dogs near her home one evening. “I just couldn’t believe it happened, and I was scared!” She had always thought that coyotes were afraid of people and dogs. “I just wasn’t expecting to see a coyote right in the middle of the sidewalk!” she said.
Hearing that makes us think of the Bible verse, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, [walks] about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:88Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (1 Peter 5:8)). When we least expect the devil to bother us, he will attempt to frighten us or even harm us. And just like the coyote, he doesn’t back off.
The coyote came after one of the two dogs, and they connected for a second. “The coyote jumped up and went for the neck of my dog, but pulling on his leash, which was attached to his collar, I pulled my dog away.” Joanne said she had wound the leash tighter around her arm. That was what allowed her to pull her dog away from the coyote. She said that even though she screamed and shouted at the coyote, he just stood his ground and looked at her and didn’t back away. Then she quickly turned and rushed toward her house with her two dogs and a bleeding arm.
The leash tightly wound around her arm had torn off a large area of skin. She had to be treated in the hospital with antibiotics. There was no doubt in her mind that the coyote was aggressive enough that he would have attacked her as well as the dogs.
Boys and girls, if you belong to the Lord Jesus, He has armor for you to always wear. Armor is for protection. This will prepare you for unexpected attacks by the devil, or Satan as he is sometimes called in the Bible. Ephesians 6:1313Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:13) tells us, “Take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand” (Ephesians 6:1313Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:13)). Farther down in that same chapter it talks about different parts of the armor that we should always have on. Here are several of them—the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit. And it also adds, praying always. The Lord Jesus will always hear and answer a quick prayer in a time of danger or a difficulty that you don’t know how to handle.
Here is a good verse to memorize: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:11<<To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth.>> God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)). It is a wonderful promise for every believer to remember.
MEMORY VERSE: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:88Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (1 Peter 5:8)
