Inside Hezekiah’s Conduit
Channel for conducting water. There are still the remains of one that conveyed water from what are called Solomon’s pools to Jerusalem. We read that Hezekiah by means of a pool and a conduit brought water into Jerusalem (2 Kings 20:2020And the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? (2 Kings 20:20); compare also 2 Chron. 32:3030This same Hezekiah also stopped the upper watercourse of Gihon, and brought it straight down to the west side of the city of David. And Hezekiah prospered in all his works. (2 Chronicles 32:30)). Efforts are now (1894) being made to bring water to that city by the old conduits.
