Or earth's foundation laid,
That we, God's children, now might be
Holy and blameless made.
Chosen in Christ, what depths of grace
To sinners such as we—
Redemption through that precious blood
Poured forth on Calvary !
Chosen in Christ, accepted too,
In God's eternal Son,
The Object of His heart's delight,
The heaven's beloved One.
Chosen in Christ, how blest to know
All spiritual blessings stored
In "heavenly places" for His own,
For those in Christ the Lord.
Chosen in Christ, to be the praise
And glory of His grace,
In Him, God's well beloved Son,
Before the Father's face.
Chosen in Christ, that we might be
To His eternal praise,
And to the glory of His grace,
Through heaven's eternal days.
