Yes, that is the word,—
The promise once given
By Jesus our Lord.
“Behold I come quickly”.
E’er sweetly the same,
Then why should I care
For earth’s riches and fame?
“Behold I come quickly”.
If sorrow is mine,
With this cheering promise
Why should I repine?
“Behold I come quickly”.
Have I joy below?
What greater delight
When to Jesus I go!
“Behold I come quickly”.
Then let come what may:
This comforting promise
My spirit shall stay.
“Behold I come quickly”.
His word must abide.
I’ll soon be with Jesus,
Safe, safe at His side.
